Halva is another one of those desserts I like to make during lent. It is very popular in Greece and everyone has their own version they like especially depending what region of Greece you are from. I like this particular one and so do my kids.
In one 2 quart saucpan put
3 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
dash of cinnamon
---cook until rolling boil
In another 2 quart suacepan add
1/2 cup vegtable oil
1 cup Cream of Wheat (red box)
1 small bag of slivered almonds
---cook for 15 min (so the flavours blend and they are a little toasted)
Then pour liquid mixture slowly in to the dry mix
BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF
cook until blended about 10 min. so it is frim then
place in a bundt cake mold. You can place a flower in the middle
if you want, JK!!
